Charlie Riedel’s – Review II

I took another trip to Charlie’s. I had to see if it could possibly live up to my own hype. For $14.03 you can get the “Charlie plate”. I’ve become a bit more “refined” when it comes to reviewing plates since I started this blog. That said, this is still a fantastic plate; and worth every penny. Let’s break it down:

HEALTH INSPECTION NOTES:

In an inspection done on June 30, 2020 they had two non-critical violations. That said, I would feel comfortable eating here again.

Meat (Cheeseburgers): 4

The burgers here are good. They don’t taste frozen, but they also don’t taste like they’re seasoned with anything other than light salt. This is a spot where they could easily improve their plate. I’ll also mention that I did enjoy the cheese that they used on the burgers.

Meat Sauce: 5

The quintessential meat sauce.

Potato Side (Home fries): 4

These were decent, clearly not home made but not bad. As per my new grading scale, these bagged fries cannot earn higher than a four for me.

Mac Salad: 5

I liked the mac salad here. There were chunks of celery in it, which I enjoyed. Made me feel like I was making healthy life choices while I was eating my plate.

Bread: N/A

I did not receive bread with my order.

Portion Control/Composition: 5

I don’t really have much to say on this one. Everything was in good balance, and they give you a lot of food. The synergy is great, and there’s a reason that I rated everything so highly.

Overall Score: 4.6

Some of you may notice that this score is slightly lower than what they received in the past. This is due to how I’ve been scoring the potato side. Their plate hasn’t really changed in quality as far as I can tell, it’s still amazing. There’s a reason that I have Charlie’s at the top of my best of list. If you haven’t checked it out, you really should because you’re missing out.
