Hungry’s Review
The last plate of 2017 I’m going to review is Hungry’s in Pittsford. It’s a tiny little place that pumps out fine plates. There’s no seating so everything is to-go; which is generally how I prefer my plates. The plate at Hungry’s will cost you $9.71. It comes out pretty quickly; they have plate making down to a science in that place. The other interesting thing that makes Hungry’s unique is that you can get a “plate wrap”. They also offer the triple cheeseburger option; in case two cheeseburgers aren’t enough.
Health Inspection Notes:
Based on the inspection notes, Hungry’s handles their food properly and safely. The four violations they did have were minimal/trivial things.
Meat (Cheese burgers): 3
The burger’s were average if not a bit lackluster. Bland, flat-top grilled hockey puck like items.
Meat Sauce: 4
The meat sauce had a good kick to it; although the texture left little to be desired.
Potato Side (Fries): 3
The home fries were rather boring; again a pedestrian affair.
Mac Salad: 5
One of the bright spots of this plate was the mac salad which I found to be Al dente and very pleasant.
Bread: N/A
I did not receive bread with my order.
Portion Control/Composition: 5
One of the bright spots of this plate was the mac salad which I found to be al dente and very pleasant. Hungry’s does not skimp on the food. They controlled the portions well. Towards the end of my plate experience I had a nice mix of ingredients left over.
Overall Score: 4
