Thirsty Turtle – Review
This is going to be my last post for a few months. I’m fine, just going off the grid for a bit.
A few weeks ago, I had the chance to stop at the Thirsty Turtle in Victor. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much, I assumed that this was just a generic roadside bar full of townies. While I wasn’t wrong about the last part, the food was enjoyable, good even. For $14.51, you can get their version called the “Turtle Plate”. Let’s break it down:
HEALTH INSPECTION NOTES:
From an inspection dated February 2, 2021 there were no violations to speak of at all. I would feel comfortable eating here again.
Meat (Cheeseburgers): 4
I felt the burgers were good; but a bit overdone and charred for my personal liking. I did like the cheese they used though.
Meat Sauce: 5
The meat sauce here has a great kick to it, and a good texture. I initially felt that there wasn’t enough meat sauce but it turned out to be more than enough.
Potato Side (Home fries): 3
Home fries are uninspired bagged fries that weren’t seasoned.
Mac Salad: 5
The mac salad was quite good. It even had a bit of a kick to it, which was odd, but very enjoyable.
Bread: N/A
Portion Control/Composition: 5
I was pleasantly surprised by this one, the plate had a good heat to it and mixed well. They give you a ton of food and it was all good.
Overall Score: 4.4
As far as what I’ve reviewed, not only is this is the best plate in Victor; it’s probably one of the best plates in the Rochester area. In a word, this was excellent.
Just had one last night because i saw them on your page. It was still really good. One of the better ones ive had in a while. They did raise the price to 17.00 which blew my mind. ive never had a non specialty plate that cost that much but hey all food is expensive right now
That is wild. 17 dollars for a plate was unthinkable when I started this page.
Thanks for commenting and glad you enjoyed it.
